Axminster Community Enterprise
Axminster Community Enterprise has produced a Community Plan – “A Vision of Axminster 2030”. The plan has been adopted by East Devon District Council as a significant document within the Local Development Framework. Axminster faces a number of challenges despite its substantial scope for growth. There are unique opportunities with regard to the regeneration of the town centre, open space provision and the long-term possibility of securing a north-south relief road. There is a perceived inadequacy of facilities, shops and services, directed towards the needs and interests of young people; a limited range of work available and high cost of housing, relative to income.
