Instructions for posting
Welcome to the AMT Forum. Use these instructions to get started. If you run into difficulties, just drop us an email at forums@towns.org.uk.
Login or register
To post a message in the Forum you’ll need to be logged in. Which means if you haven’t already you’ll need to register.
- Choose a Username (this must be unique so if your first name has already been taken try a combination of your name and surname – such as JohnS or JSmith for John Smith – or a name of your own creation)
- Choose an easy-to-remember Password
- Register here
If you’re an AMT Member, you might find it easier to use the same Username and Password that you have for the main AMT website.
How to post a message
- Click on the Forum name where you wish to post, for example, Your Market Town Questions
- You will then see one or more Topics for discussion.
- Click on the Topic name of interest to you.
- Read any discussion so far. On the left is the post, on the right are details of the person who made the post.
- Find a post to reply to or add your post at the end of the discussion.
- Above and below the post in the left corner, you’ll see: POST REPLY
- Click on POST REPLY and a box will come up for you to write your comment or query.
- Tick ‘Notify me when a reply is posted’ below the box to the left to get an email when someone has replied to your post or added a new post. This keeps the discussion flowing.
- Preview your post by clicking ‘Preview‘ immediately below the box you’re posting in in the centre.
- Publish it by clicking ‘Submit‘ – it will then appear in the discussion along with the other posts.
What next?
As soon as you have published your post, you’ll be taken back to the discussion where you will see your post.
If you then want to change it, click on Edit your Post – which is at the top of your post to the right of the title – make your changes and then save the post again.
